 Know the barriers to access education and think on overcoming them to access education. 

There are many barriers to access education, including:

.PovertyPoverty is a major barrier to education, especially in the Philippines. Families may not be able to afford school fees, uniforms, and supplies, which can lead to children dropping out or not enrolling at all.

  • Lack of accessChildren may not have access to pre-primary education or regular schools. 
  • Lack of resourcesChildren may not have access to quality aids and appliances, or affordable medical services
  • Lack of awarenessParents may not be aware of their children's rights, or the schemes and entitlements they are entitled to.
  • Gender rolesGender roles can stall progress towards providing quality education.
  • Child laborChildren may be forced to work, which can prevent them from attending school. 
  • Language barriersLanguage barriers can make it difficult to provide quality education.
  • Balancing responsibilitiesStudents may have difficulty balancing schoolwork with other responsibilities.
  • DiscriminationChildren with disabilities or from disadvantaged communities may be discriminated against and miss out on school.
  • Academic skillsStudents may have diminished academic skills.
  • Psychiatric disabilitiesIndividuals with psychiatric disabilities may face unique challenges, such as mental illness symptoms and functional deficits.
